How do I update my wii from 2.2u to 3.2u

I have been trying for 2 days to update my wii from 2.2 to 3.2u with no luck. I was told that I should use Wii update manager and patch an iso with the update, then run the disc and that would update my wii. Well I have tried on 2 titles now and no cookie. Tried on a pal copy of monopoly and then on a copy of multi region cocoto cart. The second disc will load as it did before I updated it but it does not update my firmware. Monopoly will only go the menu and then black screen. How can I get 3.2 installed?
Running wiikey 2 and nothing else.

you can do it via the homebrew channel using cios installer downgrader / upgrader. You need the right revision wad also. Cios 36 revision 7. Make sure ur wii is hooked up to internet.
