How do I check my drive type?

A Remove your consoles faceplate and look in the hole undernearth the DVD tray. You should see the following:

Grey wire = BenQ,

Red wire =Samsung

No wire= Hitachi

Yellow wire=Liteon


is that true? can i find out my drive from those instructions?

yes thats correct and be careful the yellow wire can look a lot like the white wire if you dont have proper lighting.

i bought mine a month ago, so tat would mean i have liteon drive? wouldn't it :s nwhats another way to be sure of what drive it is?

EDIT: NO GREEN WIRE :D it was the dvd eject plastic thingo
