Ohh dear.
Yes - before clicking on "yes" i turn off and on the device - and suddenly it was able to delete it. I mixed the hacked firmwire with my keys and choosed "write" and 4 keybanks was written - but afterwards the veryfing failed on the keybanks!
After that, I am unable to eject the cd-rom drive. If I go into jungleflash and try my a new erase status 0x72 is found but when it try to send device ID to the port the jungleflasher freezes - and program not answering
Also when looking into other programs the device can not more be found - But I suppose bc the firmware is gone - but I need somehow to get in in again, and somehow jungleflasher seems not to be the way!
Any tips now are appriciated ...!!

Yes - I made it.
Dosflash was the solution.
Well - I hope I made it, havn´t yet played a game, but has started the box an no errors.
I have found some demo´s on the net, are they also secured - I just want to make a fast test to see if I am able to play backup games. What is the most fast way besides to buy a game a burn in

I have a noob question about modding--if i mod it so that it plays backups does that mean the xbox cannot go online any more for fear of detection? i have a xbox arcade with a lite on drive.

if you go online with a modded xbox it is possible that the hole earth could be destroyed....
or maybe you could search for a better answer, that question has been asked at least once before.
I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!

it just bothers me how he chose to post in this thread, i thought the n00bie trend was the temptation to hit the new thread button
for the record, the liteon firmware will only run backups that are properly stealthed, and you can play them on live, however the possibilty about being banned from live remains unknown
properly stealthed ---> check the ultimate sticky sticky

noob question. im completely confused on what the xtractor is used for.
you connect the liteon drive to the pc using the sata cable and power the drive using the xbox itself. i make my own probe and use it when i dump the key. i understand that much but where does the xtractor come in? ive searched but i dont understand how to use the xtractor. what am i suppose to connect to it?

if you made your own probe then you don't need the xtractor/ck3
the ck3/xtractor/homemade probe is used to dump the key from the drive. you only need one of them, and making your own probe from scratch doesn't seem like n00b to me

thx but wait. so if i make my own probe thats all i need?? theres no point to items like connectivity kits 3 lites and pros and all that mumbo jumbo? all the computer needs to read the key is that little probe in the hole?

sorry, was with my gf on the phone thats why id didn't reply earlier
yup thats all you need you use the key along with identify and iquiry files that come automatically with the key (don't worry) to make the ix1.5 firmware that you flash to the drive through your sata port

Hey, Retro_rc, great tutorial. I am now looking into building my own MAX232. I am following the instructions at this site. Is that anything like what you used? I've already sourced a MAX3232 and I'm going to get some capacitors this week. I'm just curious: it appears as though you have nothing soldered to your DVD drive in the video, but in the tutorial I linked to, it says I have to solder several things in. I'd rather avoid that, so as to not screw up my console. Is there any way around it?

lol ....like father like son
thats the same one i used http://beta.ivancover.com/wiki/index.php...rs232_build.png
build that use the max3232 or 232 ,it doesn't matter only difference is
3232 --> 3.3-5 volts
232 --> 5 volts
i used 5 ceramic capacitors of 0.1(micro-farad)
as for me i put that transmit end of the chip into the hole r707(you'll find that behind the two points you have to solder)
or just check the guide for ppl using the spear-addon and use the same hole. put the Tx end using a needle or something really thin and conductive.

EDIT:
Now I'm confused again.
Can you give me the exact steps for connecting the above mentioned MAX3232 unit to the drive? I want to avoid soldering to the drive, but I can put up with it. Presuming I do solder it, do I desolder all the stuff after I've finished any part of the process?

you sound like a n00b
well, let me give you a good rule to follow
the most dominant method is the easiest and most n00b friendly
and in case you missed, thats a NO

Well, the MAX3232s I ordered from Maxim came. Unfortunately they are absolutely titchy small, to the point of being impossible to solder.
They are roughly this large: [ ]
What's going on here?

you dont need to use a probe or do any soldering to the 707 point on a benq drive.

But I must understand - Xtractor reader, can both get the key and also write the new firmware to the drive ? - or what else do I need now that I have the key
I would use Jungle Flasher to extract the information, as it gives you a dummy bin that has important Serial information about your drive. Other methods are flawed as they don't include all the serial information about the drive.

Hey,
I'm following JungleFlasher tutorial and looking you're videos.
So my question is do i really need connectivity kit , xtractor and max232 or can i only use my sata cable and xbox power to accomplish the flashing process from 1.5 to 1.51 ?
What stuff do i need to Obtain or extract key/Inquiry/Identify and Dummy.bin from iXtreme flashed LiteOn drive
And what is max232 used for ?
Thanks...
