hey guy i need help in flash a 79 fl hitachi drive for xbox 360 i have a windows vista 64 bit thouchsmart coumputer the new slyks and the 79 unlock cd i need to install 360 frimware toolbox but im having trouble it wont let me install i get an error sayin run time 339 componet msinet.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered a file is missinf or invaild. is there anything i can do to fix this promblem i been working on this since tuesday night and still no luck i just orderd the sbox 360 usbsata connection beacuse the touchsmart dosent have extra sata ports plz hel someone
I don't really understand the error from you pc your getting. I just did mine its a hitachi v79fl. I have all the tutorials and programs you need. They are really helpful. If you need them give me your email and I'll send them to you.
When flashing a xbox360 it should been done on a pc with ne windows install on it. You wouldn't be missing any of the files you mentioned on a fresh copy of windows.
hey relivinli, i had the same problem, before you double click the 360FwTb.exe, right click on it, and select "run as administrator", this will fix your problem. hope it helps.

look in the general 360 discussion section of the forums, (hit the bsck button) there is a post created by burning as that will link you to the 2008 textbook tutorial.

Well im not sure what the onboard sata is in that touchsmart, but if its not compatitable, you will need a via 6421 card. Id say your problem is Vista and 64bit. Try a computer with 32 Bit XP. Also with vista, try right clicking and running 79unlock as administrator.
man i recently did a 79fl and i had nothing but problems with vista 32 so i tried it on a xp 32 bit system and it worked for me 1st time you will need a via 6421 sata card though just follow the guide but use a via 6421 card they are very cheap i ll even provide you with a link to one :) http://wap.ebay.ie/Pages/ViewItem.aspx?aid=290284605005
