Will my mobo work for flashing my xbox 360?

I have an Asus P5B-VM DO motherboard and i was wondering if it could flash my xbox through sata. If i read its specifications, these things stand out Intel Q965 Chipset and Asus EZ Flash 2 which under the BIOS Features.
Please if its a no, could u tell me why my mobo would not do it...

only the via6421 and nforce4. but i'd use the via chipset, since everyone has success.
nothing else.

so it doesn't sound like VIA is a must but obviously works.

With dosflash32 you don't need a via chip set. I flash with my onboard SATA (Not a VIA) and it works well. What type of drive are you trying to flash?

trying to flash a benQ...i have never flashed anything in my life, so i want to make sure im doing everything perfectly and safe so that i dont end up with a big white door stopper

nope, i do not have yahoo messenger. only got msn...lol. I have a number of tutorials at my fingers. but all of them require a 98 dos boot and a via chipset card. I have a hardy knowldge of dos and i dont have a via chipset plainly because they are very rare to get on Africa. Im very computer literate and have prgrammed with many upper languages, yet flashing superseids me. Any body willing to assist with some tutorial for using a Asus mobo? I will be glad...

OK here are the steps I used without a VIA chip set:
1. Download DOSFlash32, Firmtool1.3 and Ixtreme 1.5 BenQ FW.
2. Connect 360 the drive to your mother board SATA.
3. Disconnect all drives except the BenQ. (Makes identifying a lot easier).
3. Start DOSFlash32 (should find the BenQ drive).
4. Click yes if the port displayed is the one your BenQ is connected to. If it is not the correct port click no until you see the correct port.
5. Select read and click "Read Flash" at the bottom. It will ask you to select the save location. Create a file titled "Firmtool" on the root of your C: drive and save the read flash file as "orig.bin".
6. If all go well and ***SUCCESS*** is displayed if not check the file names and make sure you did not fat finger a command.
7. Copy and paste the ixtreme 1.5 FW to the firmtool folder created in step 5 and also add firmtool.exe.
8. Open command prompt and change directories to the C:\firmtool.
9. Once in the firmtool directory type "firmtool orig.bin ix15Benq.bin (make sure your ixtreme FW is titled ix15Benq.bin or type whatever the name is) this will create the hacked FW.
10. Go back to DOSFlash32 and select write.
11. Now click "Write Flash" at the bottom and it will prompt you to select the FW you want to write. (Make sure you select the FW (ix15BenQ.bin) in the firmtool folder you just created) It will write to all 4 banks and once complete try a back up.

You will have to write the orig.bin back to the drive. Let me know how it goes and if you have any troubles.

ok so i got my box open. its sitting right here by me. i have hooked it up directly to my mobo. it picks it up perfectly in my cmos and through dosflash32 but when i click yes, nothin happens. ive turned it on and off multiple times and still nothing. ive even tried 16.
please assist me in flashing my rom. thx in advance

Iceyt flashed his without a VIA chip set. Just use DOSFlash32 and your money.
