Could someone please explain to me the benifits of using AutoShrink ISO? I don't know what an ISO file is, and I am using DVD Shrink now.

First of all, an ISO file is a file that contains full content of the disc, including every single track, directory, file and information about the structure of the disc Normally ISO files are used to replicate existing CD/DVD discs, transfer those discs over the network to other location and burn back to CD/DVD which then would be an identical replica of the original disc. AutoShrinkISO has a built in program that automatically creates an ISO image file of the dvd you just shrank with DVD Shrink. This makes it simple as pie because then all you have to do is write the ISO to a disc.

Thank you for your discription of an ISO file. I tried the program out and everything seemed to be on automatic going from one set to the next. When it was completed, I tried to play it. I received a dirty disc message when I selected "Play" off the menu. I tried another disc and got the error at the same spot. I am using +RW so I am not loosing disc while I try and figure out whats going wrong.

If you have access to another maybe newer DvD player than yours take it and try it in that one first and see if it plays and if it does that answers one question it's not your burner or software, and if it don't well were back to square one.

I tried 2 other dvd players with no change in the problem,it stops with a "Dirty Disc" message. I don't believe it is a "Dirty Disc" like it states because they happen in the same place, just as the movie is going to start. I did find out that if I pick "Chapter Selection" off the menu, and than select the first chapter the movie plays fine. Does "AutoShrink ISO" have it's own Decrypter built into it, because I have DVD Decrypter 3.1.9.0 already on my computer? If it is already built in maybe the wrong decrypter is being used.

I also have both installed and have never had a problem. Try non-RW's and maybe a different brand. Also, make sure you burn UNDER the alotted 4.38 gigs available on a DVD. I always Shrink to around 4 gigs. Also I would suggest updating your burner's firmware. Other than that I don't know what would be causing your problem.

AutoShrinkISO will no longer be necessary if you have an NTFS partition with the new DVD Shrink 3.1.7 (beta currently). It has built-in .iso read and also .iso output with optional burning of that .iso with dvddecrypter.

I just shrank and ripped with Shrink 317b4 in re-author mode.It didn't 'internally' make it's own ISO as opposed to using autoshrinkiso.

I believe I have solved my problem last night, when I upgraded the firmware on my burner.

you can try the beta from dvdshrink.org 3.1.7 beta 5
remember NTFS only for the .iso writing and burning and extract it...no installer included in betas.
