As the subject suggests, when I try to power up my PSP, there is no light displayed. No amber, no green. I don't have a charger cable at the moment, as I thought that I would only need a USB cable... but it turns out that it isn't plug and play like I had mistakenly assumed.
Any ideas on why the system isn't powering up? (My guess is that it needs a charge, so I am going to drop the $10 or so and pick up a spare charger)
Errrm, terribly sorry, but I am really new to the PSP scene, and am not sure what you mean by those two terms. Yes it is a slim, a 2000 to be precise. It has modded firmware that allowed the previous owner to play backup games off of a memory stick.
What is revovery? Is that software that enables the PSP to interface with your PC? What was cfw again?
Since the screen doesn't work (I knew this when I bought the system), I am guessing that my brother inadvertently bumped the power switch when he was packing the system up to send to me and didn't realize it at the time. Well, that is what I am hoping anyways...
Good, it`s a bonus to be a slim and have cfw. Cfw stands for custom firmware and it enabled you to play the game backups. Recovery is the menu you get when you hold the r trigger and you turn on the psp(from a cold boot). In there you can set a number of things, but you want: charge via usb. BTW it sounds like a empty battery, well that is what happens when it dies...but could be sumthin else.
So, is there any way to charge via USB if the battery is totally dead? It would seem that the answer to this is "no" if I need to enable a setting on the actual system itself.
What software do I need to get to interface with my PC?
