OK, i have a few questions

1. with the homebrew channel on the wii are the backups on it regular backups that the chipped wiis play? If they are they different where do i get them? Please note I rather purchase them than make them myself
2. Since i am not opening the wii during the installation process does the homebrew channel void my warranty?
3 Will nintendo fix a broken wii (lets for god say that never happens) that has the homebrew channel on it ? IE, you can delete it but that wont delete all physical remnants of it according to the homebrew channel website
4.will any future nintendo updates brick a homebrew wii or disable the homebrew channel?

Thanks

1) Yes, the backup loader plays the same kind of backup disks that a wii with a modchip plays.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY BACKUP DISKS THOUGH!!! Don't ever pay money for a pirated product! Doing so blatantly supports piracy and is also pretty stupid. If you're installing the backup loader then you already have EVERYTHING installed that you need to make your own backup disks for free.

2) No, and opening the wii to install a modchip doesn't void the warranty either.

3) Nintendo will fix a broken wii with homebrew channel installed. They'll also fix a broken wii with a modchip installed, but they'll take out the chip and send it back along with the repaired wii.

4) Impossible to say since we dont know what nintendo will do in the future, but I'd consider it very unlikely. Though several recent firmware updates have made it harder to install the homebrew channel no update so far has done anything to effect already installed homebrew.

Also, since they still service chipped and softmodded wii's it would cost them a lot of money repairing everyone's consoles if they rolled out an update that bricked any modded wii.
