Hi~
This might be another simple troubleshooting questions, but I'm really stuck here.
I just installed the Wiikey2 mod chip on my D2B chip Wii console using 5 wires on 3.3v, GND, A, B and C.

Before the installation of Wiikey2, the system wasn't able to read the backup game disks and generated a error message.
Now, as I insert a backup game disk, it seems like trying to read the disk (spins) but can't really load. And no error messages at all.
All the original (genuine) game disks are working just fine as if there were no mod chip installed. (Yes, I used the original wii game disk with the US region code, first time after the Wiikey install.)

My questions are like these:
1. How long does it take to read and load a backup game disk? I've waited as long as 5 minutes.
2. The backup disk I used is a Korean Version of Mario Party 8 and Super Mario Galaxy. Would that be a problem? (I read that Wiikey2 should override the region codes.) Should I try with a US region code backup games?
3. Should I try using a different media? I also read that DVD-R works better than +R or RW. Well, with the same DVD+R disk, the system loads the configuration disk I downloaded (and burned on) from the wiikey site.
4. According to the installtion guide, D2B chips only require 5 wires as I installed. Should I try connecting the G wire?
5. Can I suspect the Wiikey2 chip to be a defect?
6. Can I suspect my soldering skills? Or did I burn the pannel?
7. Is there any other ways I can try?

Thank you for all your help in advance~

Daniel

Your solder points are correct, and there shouldn't be any difference in load time between a backup and original game in a properly modded wii.

The first thing I would do is use the wiikey2 config disk to make sure that region override is turned on. If that setting is off then out of region games, original or backup, wont work.

I would recommend using only games from your wii's home region when possible. It gives less chance of causing problems and its just simpler.

Thanks for the advice.
I've already tried the config disk and all the options are on.
One strange thing is that the modded system reads the config disk but doesn't read the backup game disks. I've been trying to download US region backup games, but somehow all of them uses the torrent that I'm not familiar with. I'll have to study a bit then.

Try booting the games via Gecko OS. Some of the region over ride and patches can have issues with Korean game disc region.

But you would be better off download USA NTSC(U) games.
