Is it true that using two appliance at the same time will increase your electric consumption that of using them one by one?
For example, I used mu PC for 1hr, turned it off, then played my PS3 for the next hour. Will my consumption rate will be the same if I used those two at the same time?
If you use the PC for 1 hour, then the PS3 for one hour, that is tha same as having them both on for 1 hour. But if you use both for 2 hours, then of course you're using twice as much electricity.
yeah think of it like a running tap, if each device requires 1 tap to be open, running 1 device for 1 hour require 1 tap, second hour running the 2nd device requires 1 tap, so 1+1=2
Now running 2 devices for 1 hour at the same time requires 2 taps so now you have 2*1=2
I think you're confusing yourself with how much power different devices require. for instance the PS3 may require 300W to run, whilst a PC may require upto 500W. Now if you have a PC on for 1 hour, it would require more energy than the PS3 needs for the same amount of time. Just like a 2kW heater requires 4 times as much power compared to a 500W device.
