i have recently bought a modded xbox 360 from china
when i bought it they took the console away and modded it for me
but the thing is i dont know what they did like did they chip it with nme v2 or flash the firmwere. i know i have a lite-on drive but i heard that you cant flash it so i thought it might be chipped with a mod chip
does anyone have any idea what they mightve done to it?

Why did you send it to China to get it modded?? If you're in China, that's cool. Otherwise, that makes no sense sending it out there when you can find someone local on Craigslist. None of us know how they modded it, why didn't you ask them? They probably just flashed it.

if you have a lite-on drive the ONLY fw you can be running is v1.5 ixtreme

you dont have to, i know some people that are still running the original extreme FW. but yes you have to open the console up to update it. unless you want to waste your money on the blaster stuff. but its not really necessary to update it as soon as another FW comes out.

what are the benifits of upgrading your firmware every time a new release comes out?
and if new games come out do you need to upgrade your firmware for the new game to work?

benefits would be that there are new for a reason. more than likely an increased security measure. and you dont have to update the FW to play new games.
