nah, this method wont work, as they have to be activated at most retail stores, just like a prepaid phone card, that and all the stores around me either have them behind the glass, or are protected by some plastic lock where they hang at.

I found a guaranteed way to get MS points cheaper than retail. Be really good friends with someone who works at a gamestop and have them buy the card for you with their discount.
