My 7 year old modchip is beginning to have trouble staying aligned and its becoming quite a pain to adjust frequently. I was wondering if there were any good guides out there for installing a soft mod to the xbox by way of FTPing into the hard drive. I have searched for tutorials on how to do this but none I've found fit y scenario. I don't have any originals of the three games in the tutorials and I do not own a memory card. Because of this, I want to be able to go from a hard mod straight to a soft mod. I have a backup copy of Splinter Cell and I can put the softmod executable (SID) into its save game folder manually thru one of those save game PC Utilities.

Windows 7 Ultimate - Intel Quad Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
Asus P6T Deluxe V2 - Cosair XMS 6GB
256GB Samsung 830 SSD - Cooler Master HAF 932 Case
