I never connected my Wii to the internet so I'm guessing I'm using an old firmware. Do I need to upgrade to 3.3 to use the Twilight hack?

No, there are 2 versions of the twilight hack. One for firmware 3.4, and one for all earlier versions. Just use the one for all earlier firmwares.

If you have a very old firmware though the homebrew channel may not be able to install. You can check your firmware version on the settings menu. If you have a firmware older than 3.0 I would suggest getting a copy of mario kart and updating it to 3.2 with the update on the disk.

Um... Put the disk in and it will update. Same as any game that contains an update.

No, you dont have to be connected to the net to update.

Theres only 3 reasons that the game wouldnt have run the update. Either its a copy that you brickblocked, or are you using a modchip that has update blocker turned on, or you're running the game through the backup loader or gecko OS which will block updates.

Alright, I dont know why mario kart isnt asking to run the 3.2 update.

I know for a fact though that the US version of the game contains 3.2u and I'd heard that the PAL version contains 3.2e, though of course I dont have the PAL version so I've never tested it myself.
