Wiikey v1 Help - No longer boots backups

I'm a Wiikey noob, so please bear with me (I did not mod the Wii itself).

My Wii is firmware 3.4U, NTSC, and the Wiikey is 1.9g I believe (it was modded about one year ago). I've had no problems playing backups until this week. The Wii will not read any of my backups. They have all previously worked and were good burns done on Verbatim DVD-R 4.7GB made in Singapore. I can still play my originals, so it leads me to believe there is something wrong with the Wiikey.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried to update the Wiikey firmware, so I downloaded 1.9s but I can't filechop it because I do not know where to find that program. I don't even know if the firmware is the problem because it was reading backups fine prior to this week, but that's the only thing I can think of.

Rent a copy of SSBB original (not a backup).

If it works your Wiikey is dead.

D/L the Wiikey config .iso. If you can't boot it (probably not) your Wiikey is dead.

I think you should start by troubleshooting the Wiikey.
