I went through the whole Zelda install of Homebrew and then tried to do the Wii Gator install. I installed the cios installer - seemed to install with no problems. Then went to the Backup Launcher and can't play the copied games -- DVD Reaf Error (324) no cios. Do I need to uninstall anything and start again? I don't have any other apps - just tried to install the Wad Manager and it isn't even recognized to install it. Many issues here but I am sooooo close. Please help. I have abandoned the mod chip route and am trying this one.....please help I am almost there.

I am using Verbatim DVD - R.

This could also be a media issue. What media are you using? What application are you using to burn it? What speed are you burning it at?

You should be using Quality DVD-R media (Verbatim/Tyio Yudens/Ridata). Use ImgBurn to burn. Burn at half the rated burn speed of the disc.

I was curious. If you can use the backup loader on a store-bought game, does that mean you for sure have a media error if you get this error on a backup copy?

I'm very new at this whole homebrew channel concept.

Thanks in advance

No. If it runs the game fine (store bought), it may prove that you have it installed properly. Personally I am yet to find a DVD that doesn't work. I use off brand cheap ones off ebay.

Ok here is what I did when I got the error first I thought it was something wrong with cIOS file I checked but that wasn't it. In one of the website with the media list check it stated that TDK DVD-R works so that is what I was using but I got the error on the same media list it stated that JVC will not work but I had an old JVC DVD-R that was about 2 years old I used it and it worked no more error so I went and bought new JVC DVD-r they didn't have the same exact ones but it was close and guess what the new JVC's gave me the error. What I noticed was that both CDs that gave me the error had 1-16X as the speed and the old JVC plus and the new Verbatim that I use are 1-8X and I "backup" the games using nero with a speed of 4X and I have tried different kinds of DVD-R with speeds of 1-18X on them and they all worked for me and no more error. I am not sure about others but my problem was solved by 1-8x DVD-Rs.

Hi, I also have had a similar problem and it displays a screen:

'An error has occurred please eject the disc and turn the power off. Refer to the manual book'

I am using Fujifilm disks now but was going to try with Sony ones as they have worked before. I will also try looking for older disks as mentioned above.

This solution was also offered:

Here is what I did when I had burned my SSB onto a Sony+R DL DVD
1. I burned it with ImageBurn didn't change any settings.
2. Did the update from the internet to 3.2U and then the DVD did an update.
3. Restarted the Wii, let SSB load, it let me create the save game file, then took me to the intro video that shows all of the characters.
There was no sound and at the end of the video it takes me to the Disc Error and to refer to my wii manual.
I took out the DVD but didn't turn the wii off or anything. As soon as you take it out place it right back in and it should continue the video/take you to the main menu.
If not hit A or 1,2 on the wii remote, that usually skips the video. You can also skip the video by hitting these buttons as the game is loading. During game play I skip videos, some of the videos will get the disc error and I just eject disc and put right back in and it continues. Hope this helps.

Can anyone confirm this or suggest anything else?

Much appreciated
