I have been trying pretty much everything for months, if anybody knows of software that works better than tversity, or other options that do not include converting the vob's PLEASE respond

I tried winamp remote (orb) that kind of worked the audio was fine but the video looked like it was missing some frames, it didn't pause, but it did appear choppy, I think it relates to the internet because it looked the same when I tested an mp4 that looked fine through zune so I don't know what else it would be.

- windows xp service pack 3
- I DO NOT HAVE WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER
- I can stream if I convert but it takes a long time, there are often audio sync problems, and it just doesn't look as good
- I have already tried avs video converter, auto gordian knot, basically I am not interested in converting the vob's

any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Did you ever find a solution for this problem? I have been struggling to rename a VOB to mpg and successfully stream it for several months now. I can stream avi and wmv to my 360 with no problems at all and also if i convert a mkv to mpg with GOTsent they also stream fine.

My problem is the same as yours, and I DO have media center. I use DVD shrink to convert DVD's to VOB files and then rename the extension to mpg. They play fine on my PC but when streaming the image seems to be missing frames (very choppy playback) but the audio is fine. I have tried R1 and R2 DVD's with no difference, Ive also tried compression, no compression, spitting VOB's into 1GB chunks and not splitting at all. Nothing works! I also have used winXP MC2005, Vista and win7. I have a N range router and N range adapter.

The only 'solution' i have found is covert to avi (which normally takes about an hour and quality is hit and miss). Its a shame because this is one of the many 360 features I would use alot.

Download DVDsanta. This program will allow you the transfer a whole DVD to an AVI file. Then download tversity to stream all your videos, pictures, etc.

i think any coversion is going to result in a loss of quality that isnt worth it when there are other options. i was converting all my stuff to wmv at first cause i didnt have the codec to play avi. after igot the codec it plays avi fine so i just download all my stuff in avi now and the quality is already good. i put it on a usb stick and play that way. im not sure if vobs will play thru a usb stick but to be honest i think its better the streaming for the quality of the video and audio. or you could just burn your stuff to a dvd and play it but that would get old and exspensive maybe.

If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

Conversion was never something I wanted to do as the results are never as good as the original and also I get amazingly fed up with waiting about an hour for each DVD.

I have tried most software available for converting VOB's to MPG/AVI/WMV and have never been 100% satisfied. I also tried Tversity but never liked it.

I now download either MKV, WMV or AVI as i have no problems with these. MKV DOSE require converting, yet only takes about 5-10 mins with GOTsent.

If I do download a DVD, I burn it now as it is quick and the quality is consitent.

Like I said before, it's a shame because I know that other people have no problems just renaming the VOB extension to MPG and being able to stream to their 360's. Mybe 1 day Microsoft will get there act together and support more video formats.
