I got my first box this morning:

and apart from removing it from the packaging correctly, Im fairly lost.

I'v set it up to the tv and while i'v tuned it in and im getting the menus etc. for all I know the cables could be in the wrong way.

What iv tried so far is:

Installation --> (chose my cable network) --> Auto Scan

It scans but neither the level or quality bar increase, theres an unlock sign in orange and at the end of the scan it says, no channels found.

Im usually quite good with this kind of stuff, but this is completly new to me, therefore I should be able to follow most advice.

If taking my msn would be easier and talking me through it, that'd be great.

Hi
From the picture I assume this is the Twin Tuner PVR.
To protect the seller I would be 99% certain your PVR will be loaded with FTA (Free To Air) F/W (Firm Ware)only, hence the need to load the latest version which will also AU (Auto Update) the necessary when VM change things. To find your present Software version press Menu/System Setup/System Information, if old, you need to goto the link below, download the latest firmware from TheBox PVR folder/Latest Firmware folder/ (21/12/08) and PVR Loader, then find out all about how to install it by reading and downloading the docs in the Documentation folder. You will need a Null modem Cable and a PC with a 9 pin com port to transfer/update the F/W.
Good luck.
BTW Try not to use the instruction Manual, and plug the Cable feed into the Cable input not the Aerial input like the manual says, then you may get a signal input.
