Hi Guys,

Great site - its helped alot over the past few months so cheers.

Currently, we have the starview 2 box but we are moving shortly and need to get a new box for the new house and i was wondering what the best one to get would be?

The starview 3 or 4 look like good options but i dont know alot about the Eurovox products and a few people have said that they are great.

I am based in Galway, Ireland if that has any bearing on things.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

K

Why not take the starview 2 with you?

Who will be the provider in galway, if they are chor*s mmds you will need a box t instead of a box c.

The other couple we are/were living with are staying on and they brought the box with them when they moved in almost a year ago!

We aren't moving very far - literally within the same estate.

The connection is an NTL mmds so im assuming if i stay with Starview, it should be OK?? The qst then is should i go for a Starview 3 or 4?

Also, i had heard that the Eurovox updates itself when the channels are scrambled - is that true?? i know they will need to be flashed every now and then.

Cheers,

K

That's a tough one to answer. It's really a matter of personal preference, look around and see what you think.

There's also nagra3 to consider, nobody knows when that's coming out so you might want to get a cheaper box, or consider something like an itgate, because some people feel the linux based boxes are more likely to be able to cope with the changeover.

Hi guys
I am in Kilkenny City. Seems to be a it of confusion as to whether I need an mmds box or a box for rugular cable. I have a box for regular cable but can't get it to work. I have been told I need a box suitable for mmds. Is this the case? Thanks in advance for any help.

Then you will need a box like the ones in the link, but before buying one, make enquiries with neighbors etc. to ensure you know exactly what kind of feed you are on okay, if it is Chorus MMDS then something like this is what you need. >>>>>>>>>>>
