I am not really sure on which chip is better but I hear that the Xenium is the 4th generation chip which means it has to have some tight extras to it,but on the other hand I hear Xbit is also a nice chip to have.I am pretty new to this was mainly waiting for solderless solution but this can still be done using either one of these chips. What would be the best to get out of these two just making sure so I don't waste money buying a chip I might have to replace on my Xbox for a better one. Thanks in advice to whoever helps out.

I have used neither, but I would suggest going to system-mods.com. I got the X2.3 lite.
Solderless chips can be unrealiable and are succeptibly to being bumped around by the slightest movements. This will cause you to have to open up your xbox all the time. It is not hard to solder the chip in, dont be afraid. I had no previoius experiance with soldering, but I had no problem installing a soldered chip. And it really depends on what you want to do as to what chip you should get. I mean if you just want to run Evox and make backups and whatnot...a chip is a chip is a chip.

Well I don't really want to put a cheap one in but yeah I do want to just make backups nothing more than that, but I would like to experiment later on you know on harder stuff mostly just for a challenge really.

i've had a matrix in my box for over a year with 4 kids playing it daily, it gets knocked around all the time and never once has it became misaligned. with solderless chips, it's all on the installer. If the chip comes loose, you didn't do it right.
I've also been looking into a new chip for another box i have, the xbit seems to be a ncie one, still undecided though.

I just got the Xbit installed and FINALLY got it booted. I had to flash it with Xecuter 2.4980. I got it to read the boot cd after fookin with it for 4 days straight. Got it to FTP loaded 2 games to the HD and all is cool now!!!!

installed my xenium with solderless adaptor (chameleon) it works great. i'm more worried about my soldering skills, or lack of them, then the uncertainty that the chip will dislodge with the adaptor. that thing aint goin nowhere, unless it was dropped from 10 feet.

i don't know how the moderators feel about plugs but, i go mine from modwhiz.com (on sale) and it arrived the next day. after all the nightmares i've heard from different people about resellers, i'd say that is pretty impressive.

plugs are ok if you're just letting someone know of a good experience you had with a site. it becomes a problem when it is blatant advertising that is unsolicited.
