Well before i installed the x clamp mod I could turn the console on and i could eject the tray and put in a cd and could hear it reading it succesfully, now after putting the x-clamp mod on i can turn the console on and the fans just trigger for .5 seconds and it blinks 3 rings, when i hold the sync button and then hit eject i get four rings then two rings the back to the original 3 any suggestions??

Thanks

Check that the power cable is all the way plugged into your Xbox.
Take the MB out and look closely at it-use a straight edge to verify it is not warped-overheating will cause warpage-if it's ok, look for and smell for component burnouts- check for solder joints not connecting to the board-sometimes these can be found by gently bending the board also look for discolored solder points, check you didn't knock something loose-try redoing the X-clamp fix.

make sure the mobo and whatnot is set into the metal casing correctly if it is not aligned correctly it could be a grounding problem or it is touching incorrectly causing a short to power system off. i would take apart and look for things that seemto be bullging or just not seated fully and make sure bolts are tight enuff and the same tigtness all around the heatsink, do not tighten the same sides together. as in do the bottom left corner screw then top right and then top left and then bottom right. also did u replace all the thermal paste compound while cleaning the old compund out? completely to a mirror shine on chip surface?

If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

yeah i cleaned the cpu and gpu with rubbing alcohol until they were shiny, replaced thermal paste with arctic silver, maybe its a grounding issue, i will check.

Also make sure you let it heat up first after doing the x-clamp fix,by takeing off the shroud let it heat up till it turns to 2 red lights, then let it cool down then try it,also make sure you didn't make the screws to tight,if they are to tight it won't boot either I just did a elite falcon and it was a pain trying to figure out why it was not booting. In the end it was the screws were to tight.

Is your name for the MX/Freestyle/Rally car racer

Make sure the heatsinc is on right. 4-4-1-1 is CPU overheating.

Try to put your x-clamp back and see if it works. If that doesn't work then make sure your screws to hold the heatsink on aren't too tight. Its as tight as you can get it and 1/4th turn back.

I had the same problem. I put them on and then it RROD'd, before it was fine and turning on. I thought I had killed it. Then i loosened 2 of the screws on the CPU just a bit and it turned back on. I still think they are on too tight because the ones on the GPU were as tight as I could go. I don't know if I should take it apart and fix it or just leave it as is. Its a lot of work to get the console apart and the motherboard out. It scratched me a couple times *sad face*
I thought my 360 loved me :(
