I'm having issues with my backup where the video stutters a ton. I'm currently using Verbatim DL DVD+R media burnt at 2.4x and I can't get something that works properly. Not sure what to do. Should it be DVD-R? Does another brand work well enough?

I would try Verbatim -R's if I were you. I've heard +R's give some people trouble, but -R's seem to always work.

How are you booting the backup? If your using Wii Gator or some other boot loader then choppy video can happen, but the game play should be normal. The boot loader only reads at 3X not the full 6X speed the Wii normally reads at.

Thanks guys. I'll look into -R media then

Larry, I am using Wii Gator. So you're saying that to play the game properly (and is this applicable to just Dual Layer games) I will need to get the system modded? Switching to -R media won't make a difference?

No, you already have done that. He is simply telling you the speed differences between the apps. I am personally using wii gator and had no problems on dual layer discs. Use imgburn and burn at 4x. I even use nero and burn at 8x and had no issues and I use the cheapest dvd's ever.

sorry, when i said modded, I meant a hard mod. Not a soft mod using the zelda hack which is what I'm using.

I will see if -R makes a difference

If you have the NTSC DVD9 than you must stick to 0.3 Beta for this game (cIOS V6). Or look for DVD5 version which works great with gamma

I burned my backup of SSBB to GQ DVD+R DL. I expected to have to burn several before getting a good one but I was lucky and the first 2 worked (for now).

You mean cIOS V7 which is the most current.
