this unit was purchased in nov 2003 from hsn. Sometimes it records on my DVD+RW's just fine in all speeds. But sometimes it doesn't aelf end correctly and when I try to play back the recording it will go automatic and erase the disk. Sometimes when I tell it to stop it then goes into a readind reading mode. After playing around with it a while sometimes I can get it out and reformat the disk as new. Right now it is in the reading reading mode and won't come out. When I reset the power I can hear it drive, stop,dirve stop 3 or 4 times then nothing still in reading reading mode. Then a message comes at top of screen that says xxert at : file ..f..f dvdauthoring xvcf foreign dixk.c LINE 1869 (f may be some other symble) The only thing I can get it to do is when I reset the power and it is booting, I push the standby button, then it will take the (reading) off the screen and go to standby (blue lite) if I push the open button it goes back to the reading reading thing again with same results. I know the DVD+RW's work OK since I have made several good recordings with them. I have tried cyberhome (enter-return-enter routine and it doesn't work. This machine is version U0818200301x 602 main 0304112013 SGB so I don't think the firmware upgrades will work although I have downloaded the X version but don't dare to try to install it. Please advise if anyone has suggestions how to get changer open and how to fix my problem. Cyberhome doesn't seem to interested in helping me. They have give only suggestions that havn't worked such as the firmware fix. PLEASE HELP, ANYONE. Sincerely,
