Hi, I have what I think is a TA-088v3 slim. Happy with the unit and like everyone else would like to run homebrew.
I have read so much stuff but cannot find an answer to my question.
As I don't have access to a CFW PSP to set up DA's TA-088v3 identifier, I thought I would see what happens if I try to change to CFW.
I have a datel tool battery and plugging the battery in the power LED only comes on. I have made a MMS (tryed various ways including Larry's great tutorial here) but pressing x, nothing happens. The silly noob question is: Is this the expected behaviour for a TA-088v3 or have I done something else wrong ??
------flame shields up------
Thanks. Dave

Well I haven't tried to mod a TA-088v3 yet so I not 100% sure on the typical behavior but -
Do you still have the box it came in - check the bar code - link.

What is the firmware on it? 4.01 & higher on the new slims more than likely means you have the TA-088v3.

Thanks Binkie7,
I had already read that thread and the box does have a 'G' and it was delivered with 4.01 meaning it is almost certainly a TA-088v3. I was trying to establish what happens (or does not happen !)
I have found one of my mates who is running CFW so I will post him a memory card and ask him to set up the identifier for me.

I have one experience with a TA-088 motherboard. I check if the battery and the magic memory stick worked in another working slim before and after I tried my magic on the psp-2001 with ofw 4.01. The result is you get a green power light from the psp and nothing else. There is no black screen with back light nor did it reacted beyond the green power light appearing.
