Can I mate an old Hitachi with a new Jasper?

I have a flashed Hitachi 0078FK that was working splendidly when my motherboard (Launch, I'm assuming) finally laid down on me for good. What I'm wondering is can I buy a new arcade system with the Jasper motherboard and install the Hitachi drive? I know that there is something about a drive key being necessary to mate a drive with a motherboard. Since there is such a time lapse between said drive and board I want to make sure something hasn't been changed to make the two completely incompatible. Thanks for any info.

the shortcut you're looking for doesnt exist. sure the hitachi can be hooked up to the jasper cause its a SATA interface...

problem is you won't be able to play anything cause the DVD key of the hitachi won't match the DVD key of the jasper xbox...

you have to go through the entire process of extracting the DVD key, inquiry, and indentify.bin files from the liteon drive... which involves a CK3 or similar extractor hardware...

at that point, after doing all that work, there would be no point to using the hitachi... its just easier to flash the liteon cause you'd have all the necessary information.
