so i recently found out that my wiikey's firmware is older than 1.9b.. so my question is.. do i need to burn a 1.9b firmware or just go straight to 1.9s? or do i need to go step by step from my firmware to 1.9b to 1.9g to 1.9s? my wii is running 3.0u. i tried 1.9g before and it didnt work maybe because its firmware is older than 1.9b? anyone who could shed some light? thanks!

No, you dont need to do all the updates. Just burn 1.9s and install it.

Your earlier attempt with 1.9g probably didnt work because of a bad burn or some other problem, it wasn't because you had skipped a firmware. Make sure you follow the guide to updating the wiikey and use filechop for better results.
