MS28 Burned.Need Help!

Hello to everyone!
I need some help please!
I was playing around like a fool with my xbox360(adding new funs boxes e.t.c.) and I forgot to turn off the power cable and I managed to burn my MS28 DRIVE!So here is my question!
I've opened my dvd drive and I've noticed that a small part was burned!
The small chip? near the power at top right!
Look at the pic below:




So.If I replace the whole board (pic) with a new one(ms28 board) will it work or will I have to install a new ms28 dvd drive?And if I install a new ms28 will I still need the old one's number?(HOw on earth will I take them if the drive is burned?not working...)

Yes, you can swap another ms28 board into it...but you will still need the key from your old one. you will have to reflash it.

In either case you will need the key from the original.

You should ALWAYS have a backup of your original bin and maybe even your hacked bin as well.

If you don't have the original firmware (key) then yes.

I desolder the tsop and read the key via programmer if you're interested and in the States.

No problem... but don't give up hope yet. Ask in the forums over at xbox-scene and xboxhacker for people who'll do it in the U.K. What you want done is you want your tsop desoldered and your key extracted.

It'd be a lot cheaper than replacing the entire console.
