I get this every time I try...

The system configuration of this PSP
system does not appear to be correct.
The update cannot be completed.
Contact technical support for assistance.
(DRNFFFFFFCD)

I am a noob at the psp any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yep, go to system settings. System information. Tell me what your firmware is. Not the mac address.
I'm a newbie, so i can only reply every 3 minutes =[.

When i go to system information all i see is:
System Software: Version 3.71

Okay (btw you have OFW).
What's your reasons for updating?
Did you want to get into the whole hacking thing? Homebrew and such?
Or just an ordinary upgrade?

Okay? How are you upgrading?
Via a game?
Internet?
Or are you downloading it off the internet onto your PSP?
Try all of them, you never know...

I have tried them all.
Game: Crisis Core FF7
PSP internet
and i have downloaded it on computer and put it onto psp. but i may have been getting it from he wrong website.
But each once tells me the same thing.

both give me same error

But see the thing is...i sent it off to get updated before.....they sent it back and told me it updated just fine for them, so i must be doing something wrong but i dunno what it is hehe
rather then paying them again figured i would try and learn for myself.

It's most probably because its a big leap.
3 to 5
Update to 4.XX...
just gradually build up, you can find these on psp-hacks.com
I think this happend to me...
Just slowly update...

Well i tried 3.72, 3.73, 3.80, 4.00, and 4.01
and sad to say they all gave me the same error.

Hmm, what about downgrading?
Sounds modding like, and it is. But it's worth a shot.
Or maybe HellCat's recovery flasher...
(Tbh, you are in a great posistion to start getting free games... im not encouraging you but, this could be your last chance..?)
Search hell cat and read into it.

No, you can. I did, 3.XX.
I did it few years ago. Pandora battery creator, but hell cat really simplifies it. Dont go through with it if you dont want to, its a lot of hassle i have to admit.
Tried sending it to sony?
