I had this problem a couple of weeks ago. Took the machine apart and found it was a capacitor. Went to maplins to replace and forgot it is a european product so couldn't actually purchase the replacement part. I bought a new 1. Other than that i cant recommend a fix I had a 1st generation box had it about 18 months does seem bit funny how they are all just breaking, limited life?

Try a force flash with Cryptstar 257 first. If it wont take then you need to Jtag it.

The common problem described is the C11 capacitor on the PSU board. If you need to replace it use a 16V 1000uf cap. Part No. VH50E at Maplins for around 50p.
