Im having some trouble getting my DVD-key using Jungle Flasher. My BenQ drive is VAD6038, I have a 6421 VIA Sata card. When I open up jungle flasher it sees my drive. I have read that you need to eject the drive, unplug it, push it back in about halfway and then power back up. When do I do this step. Every time I go through the steps and go to save the F/W, it says that the DVD-Key was not found. What am i doing wrong. Any help would be great. Sorry if this has been answered, I have been looking for a straight answer for about 3 hours now.

I have had zero success with JungleFlasher. I always use DosFlash32. I recommend trying it. If you get the OFW dumped then you will need to use firmtool 1.3 to transfer the key to the ix15-Benq.bin file before flashing it.

Since your BenQ has original firmware on it, don't eject the drive or anything, leave it as it is, closed. Open up jungle flasher and go to the MTK Flash 32 tab, Click the BenQ Un-Lock button, will see dots go across the bottom, will say something about completed. At this point click Device ID, it will populate info and you should have status at 0x73. Click read and it will go ahead and read your firmware. Hope that helps.

Ok i would first like to thank everyone for there input. I have tried everything to get this drive flashed and nothing would work. Jungle Flasher, DosFlash32, DosFlash16, i-prep 101-v008, none of them would work for me. Followed many tuts and nothing would work. I decided to try something else. I downloaded an older version of i-prep (101-v0.0.6.2) Formatted my floppy and booted into DOS. Went through the steps 1 by 1. Used this guide http://team-xecuter.com/ck3/benq.htm
I got my drive flashed the very first time using this method. It was very strange to me but if anyone else is having issues like I was try this and see if it helps. Again thanks to everyone for there input on this matter.

In case anyone was wondering, I did flash the drive with ixtreme_1.5_benq using the older version of i-prep. I just moved the ixDef.1.5-ixtreme file into the iPrep Resources foldered to undate the defs. Thanks again for the input.

I suspect everyone is having trouble with Jungle Flasher. It says in the "readme" that you may find bugs. Remember it is a beta. If a final version comes out I assume it will be much better. As far as your probs with other softwares such as DosFlash32.... the prob is in your PC. Dosflash didn't work why? Couldn't find sata port? Or failed on reading writing? F.Y.I. when you use Iprep all you are doing is putting DOS, Dosflash,Firmtool, MktFlash on a usb drive. Iprep just includes and autoexecutable so it all runs for you. In all reality you are still using Dosflash for reading and writing. Glad you solved your problem!!!

Yeah none of them would read my flash and get the drive key. I know that iPrep is just like using Dosflash except it does everything for you, that is y it seamed very strange to me that by themselves they wouldnt work and even the newest iPrep wouldnt work. I know that the new iPrep got rid of MktFlash and is just like using DosFlash16. Thats y i reverted back to an older version of iPrep and it work the very first time I tried. When using the other programs it was finding my Sata card and everything, just wouldnt get my drive key. Very strange I know. Thanks
