LG shows off plasma TV with one billion-to-one contrast ratio

LG has showed off two new plasma HDTVs dubbed the Xcanvas bobos 42PQ60D and 50PQ60D. The larger model boasts an unprecedented 1,000,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a 600Hz refresh rate.
Both models have built-in USB ports that allow users to playback many file types including WMV and DivX videos.

Hell The only time I upgrade my TV is when someone gets a new one a older counsin got a 46 inch sony LCD or palsma I forget but he spent 2300 on it and another 2300 on a new computer I got his old 32' toshiba TV its ok but I watch all my sht on the PC and over the last 2 or so years have stopped playing video games weekly/monthly(mostly because this trailer is a mess and I have not had enough energy to sort it all and setup the game systems and such) my 23 inch 5+ year old monitor is becoming fuzzier and fuzzier every 2 or 3 months so I need to save up 200 for a monitor this year... bllaahhhgggggg
Hell I write more than play games, I watch anime more than anything else...TV sucks to much now adays to keep my interested in it.
Not disagree with you but what in particular do you not like about todays t.v? It is the same crap rehashed all of the place so i see that point but i like certain shows out there to keep myslef entertained between playing games,working,raising my 2 little rugrats, and plugging the wife LOL

Well in the 90s we had more quality prime time dramas and deceive shows, and cartoon series that were not mindless 25 minute adverts for the toy line.
2K plus we had reailty TV shows taking over, A&E stooped showing classic TV deceive dramas and new ones like Nero wolf and showed crap like Hogans reality TV show and the Airline one and the some odd dozen others strewn across all the channels. With that you almost had a dumbing down of anything prime time and a modern casual feel to writing and dialog that just stupefying and that's just prime time cartoons turned from sometimes good sometimes bad animated storys to crap fests to sell products.....

well what you "older" people have to realise is the world moves on, and so do we.
i actually agree with everythign you said about TV programms. i miss old classics such as only fool and horses, etc etc, and have stopped watchiing TV (bar Top gear and football(soccer)) but we have to move on.
as for gaming, what is wrong? its alot better than 16 bit gaming, or gaming with no sound.
yes i miss classics like battle toads etc, but then i can look forward to fifa/PES every year, or FPS games, which were rare back then, and esp 3d games which are fanstatic IMO, (though street fighter needs to remain 2D, and im glad SF IV is 3d, but looks 2D :D)

Same gdamn problem as TV....
Because of the rush to worship graphics you have less time spent on gameplay,polish,bug work....story,ect,ect fcking ect we do not have the same level of drive, innovation, creativity as we did 15 years ago nor 10 it all started going south in 2000, 03 or 04 when creativity to build products for enthusiasts finally died and we had a steady output of rushed mass market produced games.
Today's games not only lack polish on the average but also poorly thought out designs that leads to poor gameplay and stagnate boring games........

someone is picky!
cod4 online is one of the best games of the past 5 years. its simply amazing, and the numbers online on all 3 formats proves it (PC PS3 and 360)
bioshock was fantastic, how can you not like that, and left 4 dead is another superb game.

COD4 is is a modern war shooter I hate those because lite fictional human on human warring is insanely boring to me, when weapons are limited to real world clones I am in tears.The 2 games that were mostly human on human that did not bore me where Infernal and FEAR.
Sure BS is superb if you never played a real FPS RPG with real items and equipment with competent AI.....
Bioshock is under deved and not balanced right not to mention they refuse to finish the fcker after they have made money off it.... its still barely playable on PC.
