2.6 update. now no sound on hd movies (AVC)

i just updated to 2.6 and now when i try to play the hd movies i've downloaded to my ps3, i get picture, but with a loud static noise, with no movie sounds in the backround. these are movies that were .mkv files but i used mkv2vob to convert them to mpeg and when it's copied to the ps3 it say AVC. they all played fine before this update. can anyone help me

I'm having similar issues when trying to play AVCHD format from a Samsung video camera. Did you by any chance find resolution to your problem?
