Burnt my iso on to a dvd-r and didnt work on my wii

I used imgburn and extracted it with isobuster. its the bigs.
im reading and people are saying just burn it on a disk and i do and for some reason it doesnt work so im just wondering whats the first things to check for

any reply would be koo

How did you extract the files from the wii iso? Most programs cant open them.

If you did somehow manage to extract the files then just burning them will never work. You need to burn the whole ISO, as it is, unmodified.

i downloaded the torrent and open iso buster and it just changed to a iso file.

the iso is just that one huge mvlw-tbigs.iso file thats like 4.66...? right
thats what i burned onto the dvdr

OH! You extracted the iso from the rar container with iso buster. I didnt realize that the program could open rars. I thought you were saying that you'd done something to the iso before burning it.

Anyway, its probably just a bad burn. The wii is very picky about burn errors and quality of the media you used. Burn at 4x on good quality media, like verbatum.

Don't use iso buster to do anything.

What did you have after you downloaded the file? Was it a bunch of rar files? Use winrar to extract not isobuster.

once you have the iso file, you just open imgburn and point it to the iso and burn away.

I think i must be lucky, so far 7 games burned and no errors(although i think getting resident evil umbrella cronicals was a big error!!)
I have used cheap ASDA DVD-R media and burn using imgburn at 2x speed;

I have downloaded 5 wii iso games, extracted using winrar and burned them using Imgburn in speed #2. only 1 was successfully working on my console and 4 have displayed error msg "E#001 unauthorized device has been detected".. So what does this error msg mean?

Error 001 means you need to upgrade your modchip, which I'm guessing is probably a wiikey.
