Can You Brick a TA088 V3?

I apologize if this question's been asked.

I've read a lot of threads where people have tried Pandora on a TA088V3 - and only mentioned the green LED staying on. But didn't mention what happened afterwards to their PSP. Is there any risk?

I ask because a kid I know asked me to try and hack his psp. It was given to him with a broken screen and buttons - but he managed to replace them all with another broken psp he was given. I was REALLY impressed. However, he doesn't have the box - and I really don't want to destroy his handywork with a failed Pandora app.

Should I try to hack his PSP? Or would I risk bricking his PSP, which doesn't have a warranty?
