hi all.

i have a launch wii and the homebrew channel installed.

my firmware is currently at 3.3u and the homebrew channel is at 1.01 IOS36 v4.18

i am unsure as to whether or not it is safe for me to upgrade the official firmware to the current release.

will the current release block my homebrew channel access, or am i good to go on all future firmwares?

While I cant speak for all potential future firmwares, 3.4 is perfectly safe for your homebrew channel.

There are a couple homebrew programs that won't work on 3.4 though, such as the firmware downgrader and the wad installer. But you can restore function to them by installing IOS16, a wad that can still be installed even on 3.4 because it's not hacked, its just installed in an unusual way that restores the function.

cool. thanks. i greatly appreciate the help. sometimes it is a little daunting trying to find the answer elsewhere when there are so many topics.

i am hoping that i don't run into any problems installing hbc on my brother inlaws wii.

i haven't installed the hbc myself, (a buddy did mine) and he wants it too.

here's to not installing a brick!!!!
