ok so I have an old psp which was a 1.51 which has cfw that has now made it a 3.52 mm3. On the memory stick i have a space with "3.52 m33 update" and "kexploit permanent patcher"
Its been a while since we have used it, but my son has asked for newer games on it today. Can the new games run on this because i did Buzz for him today and it keeps asking him to "replace the buzz quizmaster disc" when he tries to play. Yet it plays the older ones like dungeon seige.
If not, what do I upgrade to to update the psp and do i need to remove the existing firmware? (hopefully with an idiots guide to installation!)
Also is there any way to downgrade it back to 1.5. Can i press the system restore to get it back to the factory setting.

There is no need to take it back to 1.5 as it is already on a 1.5 and the 3.52 m33 (basically running both firmwares).
Go through this guide that i made to upgrade it to 3.90 m33-3 so every game will work. Well for me not even one new game hasn't worked like Need for speed undercover and fifa 09 are new games and they work well.
Then follow these steps below: - Copy the UPDATE folder into /PSP/GAME/
- Go to the 'PSP_390_FW_UPDATE' folder, and put the 'eboot.pbp' file in the update folder that is in your psp, then rename the 'eboot' file to "390.PBP".
- Run it by going onto the psp in "game" then "memory stick", the update will be done by Sony updater. At the end when you are asked to reboot the PSP by pressing X or O, do it.
Format memory stick after reboot by going to settings, system settings, then format memory stick.
Then update the psp to 3.90 m33-3 by downloading the file from the website below.
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1447 All you need to do is copy it into /PSP/GAME/ folder then go to "game" then "memory stick" and then run the program.
Then last bit is to install this file onto your psp so that you can play homebrew games on your psp. Download the file from the website below.

Then format your psp like i said before and now you are done.
