This is my first post and I have read the rules, searched the site, and still don't have an answer so I figured I would post. I believe this is the correct forum.

I am a new Wii owner and got Guitar Hero World Tour. I have seen the list of downloadable songs on the internet and want to download some. I can get my Wii on the internet, but I have never downloaded a song before and want to know how the process works.

I know you have to pay with Wii Points and each song will end up costing me 2 or 3 dollars. I know it is possible to put songs on the Wii or on an SD card.

*When I download a song, do I have it forever or can I only play it a certain amount of time and then I would need to download it again?
*Can I use any SD card or do I have to use a Nintendo branded one?
*If I download a song, will I be able to take it over to my friends house and play it on his Wii or would I need to pack up my Wii cause it will only work on there?
*What the the best method? Keep it on my Wii or on an SD card?
*Can someone please give me an overview of the process?

If there is a good site out there that explains this process, please send me to it. Otherwise, can someone explain the process to me?

Thanks!
Jeff

1. When you buy a song it is yours to keep.
2. No it doesn't have to be the nintendo SD card. (I use Sandisk)
3. IDK, maybe if you save it on your sd card and take it to your friends place it will work. But IDK.
4. That is your choice. (I would keep it both in the Wii and SD card)
5. As far as an overview, I am not sure what else to include.

Thanks for the info. So I go to the Wii store, pay for it and it downloads to my Wii? How do I get it from my Wii to an SD card (so it is on both)?

I believe once you buy a song is will ask you where to save it, and if you want to back it up.

When you buy the song (remember theres 5 or so free ones you can try) it downloads it to your Wii then asks if you would like to copy it to SD.

By copying it to SD no blocks are used on your Wii.
You can access it later when you start GHWT it will check for downloaded content.

If I have already downloaded them to my Wii, is it possible to move them to an SD card? Or once I make the decision to store them on the Wii am I stuck with them on there and SD is not an option.

Theres another option to move them across which gives you a list of songs on the Wii memory and a list of the SD card memory.
