The title pretty much sums up my question. I work at a local game stop and kids come in all the time and argue about it I just wanted someone's opinion that knows what there talking about.

No, that refers to PS2 backed up games. I am speaking about backed up PSX games.

It allows both PSX and pS2 backups to be played.

Or a PS2, if you've got Swap Magic. (Or whatever else it is you can use, HDLoader, etc.)
