1. install the via card into a pci slot in your pc and disconnect all sata cable and ide cable to all your extra hdd and dvd burner, dvd rom, only keep one cable going into which ever is your main hdd with winxp on it.
2. connect the sata cable to your benq drive in the xbox360 to your sata port on your via card.
3. turn on your pc and press f2 at startup to go into your bios and turn off all sata port in your computer except for the sata port that is connected to your main hdd with winxp in it
4. turn off your pc and turn it on again, once winxp is finish booting up turn on your xbox 360.
5. start dosflash32 and it will ask you a question, choose yes and turn off your xbox360, now count to 5 and turn your xbox360 on again and the dosflash32 gui will pop up.
6. choose read for flash task and click read flash and it will ask you where to save your firmware. save it either to your ixtreme fast or quiet folder and name the file orig.bin. dosflash32 should finish ripping u the orignal firmware. it should be 256kb.
7. now open "Firmware Toolbox" program then load ORIG.BIN, copy the key,(this is important key, so BACK IT UP IN A TEXT FILE, EMAIL IT TO YOURSELF, WRITE IT DOWN, TAPE IT TO XBOX, you get the point, DONT LOOSE IT) since by now you have memorized your key, just load IXREME151.BIN into "firmware toolbox" and replace all the 0000's with the key you memorized/copied. Then click SAVE KEY.
Open dosflash32 gui should pop up now. choose write in the flash task. click read flash and go to where your IXTREME151.BIN and choose it. it will started flashing the modified ixtreme.
Turn off PC then xbox and put everyting back together and play your backups!
TONS OF VIDEOS on YOUTUBE, just type BENQ 360 FLASHING
**note** i did not install any via card driver. if winxp tell you it found new hardware and you need to install driver just click cancel
i hope this help some of you. enjoy

Should work fine, I flashed my first drive on hardware like that. With a BenQ I wouldn't use JungleFlasher, just get DosFlash and use DosFlash32 under Windows.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Hmmmm...
I recently posted asking what was better to use the iPrep method (listed in the textbook) or jungleflasher...
I don't mean to hijack your thread, but if I have flashed my benq to 1.4.1, you wouldn't recommend using jungle flasher? or?

Jungleflasher never worked for me (I tried the better part of a saturday) and the Dosflash method worked twice. Never tried iPrep. So I would recommend DosFlash and with that DosFlash32, works under Windows and is self-explaining. I would recommend to disconnect your PC DVD drives though, Dosflash32 detected my Kreon Drive and tried putting it into vendor mode.

You have enough RAM, as I said, I used almost the same hardware for my first flash. I didn't try flashing under Windows 98, I used XP/ a Dos startup disc, but I don't know why it shouldn't work under 98.

Check Dosflash, there should be some tutorials around, I used a bootable startup disk instead of booting from an usb stick. If you do that it doesn't even mather which OS is on your PC because you flash under dos.

Wow, might I ask how old you are?
As I have seen in your posts you totally don't know what you are doing so I would really advertise you to either learn how a computer works (I think you don't even know the basics) or let someone flash the console for you. This isn't in any way meant impolite, I just don't want you to totally fry your console because you don't know what you are doing.

You don't even know what DOS is and didn't bother checking it at google, so learn the basics.

Mate,
No disrespect to you but if you don't know what DOS is and how to access your Bios and what Bios is then I am sorry to say but I wouldn't reccomend you to flash your XBOX because you will definitely mess it up!
You should google Dos, Bios and all the other basic stuff and find out more about your own computer before wanting to hack the firmware of your xbox.. sorry mate but thats just my honest opinion..

A compatible SATA chipset. And a 32bit OS to build your custom firmware in. GUI is a little bit easier if you don't know the ways of command line.

I normally don't quote myself.
Your hardware (your computer) should work fine.
