My first post in almost a year ^^ But anyway is it safe to use the guide found here http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=8791 to load ps2 isos or can you get banned from the psn?(I'd rather at least wait for a ps3 launcher before trying somthing like that :P) Also could sony block this with a firmware update?

I highly doubt you will get banned for using this. And I'm sure Sony can (and probably will), but who knows how long it will take them to patch it. You know how Sony delays things...

No, you know they're actually just using these hackers as free workers to help improve their own technology.

i would say you cant get banned. you dont even need to have to be on the psn to make it work.

Once swap magic goes in the ps3 is in ps2 mode. You are no longer connected to PSN. Sony cant monitor what you are doing in PS2 mode because you are not on the network.

Also I don't think this will be patched because swap magic hasn't been patched even after the we learned that ps2 homebrew apps could be launched using it. It is ironic because I was going to install the swap switch Sunday night then I saw the news on ps3hax. I had the idea of using usbadvance a couple of years ago but I never thought I would see that idea come into reality.
