I bought a 3rd party USB connector (since nintend discontinued theirs), but am having a hard time getting my Wii or DS to connect to it.

When I go into the Wi-Fi Connection Setup and "Search for an Access Point" it can always detect the connection (on both systems), but then it always fails the connection test.

I know on the software for the actual Nintendo version you have to gve it connection permission on the PC end and I assume the problem is something to that effect but I can't find where to give it permission.

I'm using a ZyDAS IEEE 802.11 b+g Wireless LAN - USB. I have it set as "access point," have tried on both channles 1 & 11 (as reccomended by Ninetendo), WEP is disabled, Authentication is set to open system, TX power is set to max, and MAC address filtering is disabled.

Just a thought... I had to enable WEP on my router and enter the WEP key in the Wii in order to get mine to work. Leaving mine wide open wouldn't allow me to connect.

I gave that try and still no luck yet. I notice that even though my LAN has access to the net the Wireless connection icon that pops up when I insert the device says limited to know connectivity. At first I thought that was refering to the amount of connectivity the PC was rceiving from the device but could that mean some setting is not allowing the device to have access to the net?
