I had that problem, first cause was tray not done right.
Has to think its closed but half way open.
Second problem was not pushing it far down enough. It's springy..

However, I got the new JungleFlasher, and followed the tutorial word for word for JF and I think it worked perfectly

i've found that dosflash is much more reliable than jf. it randomly just refuses to work for me.

Are you using the VIA 6421 chipset to flash? If so, jungle flasher isn't the problem. It is the viamraid.sys file causing the lock up problem. Delete that and you wont have to boot to DOS anymore.

How do you delete the VIAMRAID driver without taking away the function that the driver provides for the hardware in order to work??? Thanks

Deleting the driver here simply deletes the manfactures driver and forces it to use windows. You will have it install but it will have "yellow explanation" by it.
