Ok so I have gone through the textbook, and I am at the step where I am supposed to format my USB drive then download Xbins auto installer.. But the xbins auto installer link does not work,
I have Iprep installed but I am not sure how to how to get it to find the drive. I am pretty sure I need to power on the xbox with the power to the dvd drive installed but hooked up through the sata cable to my computer. (i guess this is the point of no return with xbox live cause if you power up a xbox without the drive hooked up you get banned right?)
Then after that what do I do? I am alittle lost on the guide, I have iprep and firmtool I also downloaded "auto Installer Delux v4.4" Which I thought this was the firm ware but the read me says other wise. Can someone give me a brief explaintion on what I am to do next? Thank you.. Ohh I have a benQ dvd drive and a Zephyr motherboard.
Well I found the Xbins downlaoder, I download the firmware for my drive and used iprep on my flash drive to make it bootable I am not sure what to do now.. plug the usb into my xbox and turn it on or boot my pc useing my usb drive with the xbox dvd drive installed?
please re-read the guides, as they all tell you EXACTLY what to do, and most of them even have nice pictures, or just go to youtube and watch a couple of videos on there.

Yeah the guides are real technical and wordy, I found a video and right now I am stuck because I cannot boot my computer useing a flash drive... is their another way doing this? can i make a bootable cd and flash it this way?

If you found the tutorials and guides too technical and "wordy" then back off of the 360 flashing.
yes they are technical and wordy, thats why i am looking for a human answer vs a text book answer, I have a few computer certs including a few comptia and my ccna, but when i was learning about cisco I had a teacher to ask questions and not just tell me to read a book or manual, right now I booted with the ram drive, running dben but it will nto recognize my dvd drive, the status code remains 0x51, i did select resend the command untill the drive responds and i powered the xbox down and up again.
