I tried to re-flash my PHAT PSP so I could upgrade to the latest CFW (5.00 M33-6) as I had installed the 3.71 fatsmod, but after going down to 1.50 OFW and back up to 5.00M33 using Hellcat's CFW Recovery Flasher, it just seems to hang after being switched off and on.

I thought it may be because I'd skipped many of the previous updates (1.50 >> 5.00M33-6) so I went back to 1.50 OFW then to 3.71 CFW then up to 5.00 CFW, again with Hellcat's CFW Recovery Flasher but again after being switched off and on, its still just sitting there with a blank screen and flickering MS light.

So I flashed it to 1.50 OFW and then to 3.71 CFW, it seems to work fine after switching it on and off sereval times.

Its only seems to screw up when I upgrade to 5.00M33, anyone know whats going on?

You might need to upgrade it step by step. Find a custom firmware that it works fine on (in your case, 3.71 CFW) and then keep updating it by version. Not sure how many there are between 3.71 and 5.00 though...

Yeah, I thought I'd have to try that sooner or later, thanks for replying.

Anyone know which versions I have to update to individually?

you can go from 3.71 to 3.90 then us the m33 update to go to the latest but if you don't have wifi you could probably manually go from 3.80 to 5.00 m33-6 because i have used this method with pandora battery's without issues so 3.80 may be the earliest if your having trouble with 3.71

In this order:
3.71M33>3.80M33>3.90M33>4.01M33>5.00M33

http://alek.dark-alex.org/pspwiki/index.php/CFW#M33_Firmware for download links at the bottom of the page (MAKE SURE THEY'RE M33 VERSIONS).

Thank you both for replying, I'm going to go down the route of 3.80 >> 3.90 >> 4.01 >> 5.00 simply for the fact that its the order they go in Hellcat's CFW RF.

Edit: 3.80, 3.90, 4.01 all worked but 5.00 still causes the blank screen flashing MS light!

why not just try getting to 3.80 or 3.90 and do it by wifi or manually straight to 5.00 m33-6 without using hellcat's, it might be whats causing the problem with 5.00

Yeah that's what I'm doing at the moment, I'm up to 5.00M33 and I might as well stay here for today.

As always thanks for replying.
