today 28 th jan box seems to be gone again in swords area has this anything to do with the fact that the picture on sky digbox is FLICKERING

Probably just working on the cable in your area. Either that or the little buggers have set fire to the box at the end of your road, oh no, they only do that where I live.
Seriously though, no problems in my part of Dub, so probably just work being carried out, or the slightly inclement weather we are having.
