Did anyone else download the demo that was up on Xbox Live last week for the new Resident Evil game? It came with two playable levels and I believe that it is no longer available to download. I've played both levels through in single player and co-op mode and it seems like it's going to be a good installment for the series, but I was wondering if anyone else had an opinion?
I've started playing RE4 again just to fill the void :-)
Yeah I played it and it was AWESOME! I can't wait to see how they do the merchant, money and jewel system (like if you could combine jewels and the other items you find together to sell for more money), also see the story with Tri-Cell and everything else, also might see the creator of the P-virus with started everything!
Should be awesome!
(from another thread I made check it out and let me know!)
Hey guys it's been a while since I've been on this forum and I thought I would let all Resident Evil 5 Fans know about Capcoms site that gives us news and more story about Resident Evil 5 (Along with some other nice things like wallpapers, screensavers, and videos).
Yeah, tried it. It looks really good, but the control scheme throws it off. The movement/aiming feels real spongy. Especially when one is use to playing CoD. And not being able to aim and move at the same time. Or even use your knife and move.
And there's some more little odds-n-ends. I know, it's just little problems... but when you get enough little problems together, it makes playing the game one big problem.
I've always liked the RE series, but the juries still out on this one. I guess we just get spoilled with too many other good games.
I guess to me the controls to third person shooters have always been somewhat sketchy and the removal of the target and addition of the laser sight does make to more difficult to shoot where you want, but that being said it doesn't seem that much different than the past resident evils in terms of control.
CoD and Halo3 have made it hard for me to get used to RE5, Gears is the only third person game I've ever been any good at, and that's mostly due to the plethora of chest high walls :-)

The linked worked for me but I know that the site has been up and down since I've been on it for the past 2 weeks. Try again and or delete your cookies sometimes that works lol.
Yeah I agree on the controls but coming from Resident Evil 4 and beating that game at least 20 times I really liked how it was all done. It does take awhile to get used to and it is like the other RE games where you couldn't run and shoot (All the way back to RE1) so it's keeping with the whole genre.
There were a few cool things with the quick switch on the D-pad, I like the some what quick aim where you can plan where you want to aim then aim right there, you can run by either the A button or the Depress the left analog. I'm going to love this game above everything else and I love Left 4 Dead, COD4, and the Halo series so this is going to be a nice change IMO.
i second the motion on the aiming, it seems "slow" but i will also agree with the comment it is the RE style, we just need to adjust again. I was very impressed with the graphics. And even though i tend not to give a game the time of day if i dont like the controls, i plan on buying re5 just because i am sure it will turn out well in the end.
The quick switch with the D-pad is pretty great and completly necessary now that they removed the pause screen inventory updates that made reloading and changing weapons so easy in RE4. It is a great change from FPS games which seem to be the norm these days (I'm just starting BioShock too hahaha)
