I need to replace my lens/laserh for my Hitachi dvd drive (Help Needed & Wanted)

I have a Hitachi dvd drive but I don't know the model number. Should I take it apart and find the model number? or was there only one kind of lens/laser I can buy? I see a few on ebay and they're pretty cheap. The reason is that I had this problem before and id have to open and close the disk tray till the game booted. I took it apart the 1st time this happened and cleaned the lens and it worked fine but the video still skipped here and there. (Its the "oped disk tray error" NOT "disk read error") & a huge selection of my games the in-game videos skip. Im just going to replace the lens. Could someone help me out please? Thanks in advance.

I have a Hitachi drive that was giving the same error. The way i solved this was to take the top off the drive and carefully prise the little holding disc out of the lid. This seemed to be putting too much pressure on the disc causing it to stop spinning.
I removed the disc and put it directly on to the dvd in the drive and started the xbox up (without the dvd upper case on). Bingo, no more error.
I then took the dvd case lid and applied a little pressure to the center of it where the plastic disc sits to bend it a little and all has been good so far.
No more open tray displayed.
