I'm new to building computers. I was thinking of getting this: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cach
Or should I get one of those solid state hard drives or something? Are they really worth the extra cash to get one?

I think you should buy it as it is reliable brand, seagate is also a good brand you can even try it also

The Caviar Blues are good drives. SSDs have a few problems with OS drives.
