I was just recently given a 16GB Micro SD card as a gift, which I plan on using together with my 8GB Micro SD card in my CR-5400 adapter; a dual-slot MicroSD > MS Pro Duo adapter.
But at the moment, my PSP's having some problems with the card. I've put the card (16GB MSD) into an individual adapter and read it with my PC, which says it has 14.2 GB of free space after a format, like it should. But when I put it into my PSP on it's own, not with the dual-slot adapter, and format it, it says that it only has around 7.5GB of free space.
Another strange thing is that when I put it into my dual-slot adapter with my 8GB card and try to format it, the format process cuts short and says that there is no memory stick inserted. When I format the two cards in the adapter it says that it's got 22.2GB of free space, as it should.
Even after formatting the adapter on my PC and applying the correct folder structure myself (like it should appear after a successful format) the PSP will not display the correct capacity, instead sticking to ~7GB.
What's going on? The adapter works on both my PSP and PC if it's my 8GB combined with a 512MB card, but only on my PC with the 8GB+16GB.
I'm also sure neither card is fake, at least capacity-wise. I successfully wrote 12GB of video onto the 16GB card without any corruption and could play them back on my PC, and I've been using my 8GB MicroSD in a single-slot adapter for quite some time now, never had a problem.
My PSP Details:

Not running any plugins.
Somebody please give me a hand with this, I've spent a lot of money getting the cards and adapter, and I need them to work.
The old fat psp maximum complicity is 8gb, however in your psp it is 7.~gb. I read it some where, but i forgot how it is exactly done, but you can partition your memory card so you can have access to half of the 16gb at a time. You can try partitioning you memory card with your computer and install the ipl on each partition.
The easier fix is buying a slim psp which can hold up to 16gb.
Problem solved, turns out the adapter's second slot was faulty, and it was the one where I put my 16GB MicroSD. The first slot had the 8GB card in it, which is the only slot my PSP could read therefore it gave me a reading of 7.5GB.
I ordered a new $10 CR-5400 adapter from dealextreme, I think I accidentally broke my first one my handling improperly; they are EXTREMELY fragile.
