I want to hack my madden psp 2001. I think it came with firmware 3.95 (when i go to "game" it says "PSP Update ver. 3.95). I know someone that can hack it for me, so that isn't a problem. My question is, is my psp even hackable and whats the risk involved. Is there a chance of my psp getting hacked, and is there a way to fix a hacked psp? BTW i'm running OFW ver 5.03 now.

well you really shouldn't have upgraded to 5.03 for one since sony only updates to fix exploits and means of hacking your psp instead of adding useful features.

and since you have a blue madden it is one of the psp that come with the ta-088v3 mobo's and can not be hacked but they typically shipped out with ofw 4.01 so you may be okay

the only thing you can do is have your friend try and if the screen stays black and doesn't let you install the cfw then all you can do is buy an older psp or replace your psps mobo with another psp slim mobo that isn't a ta-088v3 from ebay or craigslist; its usually cheaper to buy spare parts but requires a little skill and hands on experience.

Well, I'm willing to try it. But before i do i wanna know what happens if my psp isnt hackable. Will the psp get bricked and is it fixable?

So how exactly can a psp get bricked?? Is it only if you mess up when upgrading (pull out the battery or something)?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to be sure before i try and thanx for the help

yes that and "back in the day" it was harder because of exploits from game saves and umds...downgrading through a lot of firmwares and their was just a lot of steps that made screwing it up a lot easier.

now with pandora its pretty easy because it will either work or not work on your psp and if it doesn't work then it can't brick it and if you do end up doing something to semi-brick your psp then you can always use the pandora battery to fix it again.
